The month of December tends to keep most people out of the water, but it doesn’t have to keep you off the sand! This is a great time of year to bring your furry friends to IOP. They can play on the sand, and you do not have to worry about them getting wet from the cold water. This can keep the sand from sticking. Your clean-up will not have to be as intensive!
At IOP Beach Chair Co., we want to give you great reasons to get to the beach every season. We have spent the years around here finding the best ways to continue to enjoy the sun and the sand, even when the cold weather makes it seem impossible.
Bringing The Furry Friends To IOP
Watch Out For The Correct Hours
Your dogs are always welcome on the IOP beaches when they are on a leash. However, the hours that dogs can be on the beach off-leash changes throughout the year, so it is essential to know the right times. According to IOP Beach’s Beach Rules, dogs are allowed to be off-leash from April 1st through September 14th between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. and from September 15th through March 31st between the hours of 4 p.m. and 10 a.m.
The community sets these rules to keep everyone safe and happy year-round! It is a great way to let your dog experience new things during the year.
Pick Up After Your Pet
If you are going to bring your dog to the beach, be sure to plan accordingly for clean up. Your dog must be on a leash outside of the previously mentioned hours. You must also be prepared to pick up after them. You can bring your own clean-up materials, but dog bag receptacles are also at most public beach access points.
By cleaning up after your dog, you can leave the beach ready for anyone else who wants to enjoy it. It is important to consider how you would feel if someone else did not clean up after their pet before choosing not to.
Keep Them Active
Bringing your dog to the beach is a great way to keep them active. The American Kennel Club explains that the amount of exercise your dog needs depends on age, breed, and health. For example, puppies have a ton of energy but exert it quickly, so their exercise is more necessary to be often rather than for long periods. Adult dogs need the amount of excerise that equates best to their breed. Some, such as shepherds and collies, require more exercise than a bulldog or toy-sized dog.
The beach is a great place to get that energy out for any dog because they can run and sniff. It may be best for your dog to go during off-leash times, while others prefer to keep their dog leashed. You can make those decisions and give your furry friends a new experience in the sand. Surely, they will make a new friend while they enjoy the new environment.
