Sea turtle nesting season is an important time on Isle of Palms Beach, and visitors occasionally discover sea turtle nests or eggs while walking the shoreline. If you come across what looks like sea turtle eggs, it’s important to protect the area and avoid disturbing the nest.

  • Do not touch the eggs or dig around the nest.
  • Keep your distance.
  • Do not shine lights on the nest at night.
  • Mark the location mentally or with a nearby landmark so you can report it accurately.
  • Contact local authorities or the Turtle Team immediately.
